"After completion of the commercial school and short stays in England and France, I started my first job in 1976 in a well-known import agency of food raw materials. This place set the tone of my professional life. The import agency was taken over in the early 1990's by a trading house in Zurich, where I led the food raw materials department, when I decided to found SANFRUT together with Stefan Sauter. Stefan and I share the management of the company. I predominantly take care of the commission business. The fields of almonds, groundnut kernels and cashews are my specialty domain.

In my leisure time I undertake long walks with my dog "Caruso". When I contemplate with him my visions on the long-range future of SANFRUT, he is my trusted and extremely discreet listener who does not contradict me. Raised along the lake of Zurich, I enjoy relaxing on my boat. The cultivation of my small garden helps me to forget any problems and stress."

Stefan Sauter

"After becoming a licensed retail trade employee, I continued my studies to earn the diploma of Retail Trade Merchant. In this position I soon was promoted to chain store manager of a large food distributor. After a short excursion as managing director of a fashion house, I found my way back to the food sector, first as manager of a food distribution center, and then by participating in the founding of SANFRUT. Today, I trade products, such as pistachio kernels, coconut products, all tropical dried fruit and various other items, e.g. concentrates. I'm also responsible for the whole field of organic foods. Besides my functions in trading, I deal with many of the administrative tasks of the company.

I'm married and a father of a daughter. In winter I'm an enthusiastic skier. During the summer time I like to look after our garden. There, I'm the general manager of the Barbecue. As a "Seebueb" (boy of the lake), my family and I are frequently lured to the lake. Generally speaking, I'm interested in all sports. Throughout the whole year I play table tennis with friends or I enjoy Ice Hockey and Soccer with them."

"After finalizing my apprenticeship as a gardener, I worked in the fields of production and purchasing in an international environment. During that time I continued my professional education to successfully achieve a diploma as Commercial Agent. Since joining SANFRUT in 1998, I take care of items such as sultanas, apricots, prunes, apples, pears and various other products. Besides trading I maintain our quality assurance system as well as our IT systems.

I'm married and a father of three children. I enjoy deeply spending time with family and friends. When I need a change, I like to do sports: (motor)-biking, squash, hiking and many more activities are on the "menu". Furthermore, I like going to the movies or simply spending a fine evening with good friends, preferably at a place, where the smoke of a hand-rolled cigar is accepted."

"As a graduated food technologist I originally started out in food production where I worked in different positions for producers of chocolate, bakery and pasta products. Searching for a new challenge I switched to marketing at a renowned Swiss gastronomy company. During this time I earned a degree in marketing and sales. Later, I held jobs as Brand Export Manager with the world’s largest chocolate manufacturer and I worked as Key Account Manager for a co-packer for food and cosmetics.

I describe myself as a man who enjoys the finer things in life on the one hand and, on the other, as a sport enthusiast, or “sports nut”. I spend a lot of my free time with my wife and friends playing golf, tennis, going mountain biking, going out to eat at finer restaurants, travelling and collecting wines."
